COUNCIL OF SCIENCE POLICY AND
TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT MAIN TASKS
-
Defines and conducts the appropriate science and technology policy
for the social and economic development of the country. -
Adopts the directions and priorities of science and technology
policy, and approves the national research and development programs. -
Suggests its alternatives on Law and Decision drafts related to
scientific and technological activities, forwarded for adoption to Parliament
and Council of Ministers. -
Performs periodical assessment of science and technology policy
developments. -
Defines tasks for the state institutions concerning the development
and utilization of scientific potentials. -
Sets up interim or permanent commissions or working groups on specific
issues. -
Makes decision on National Programs and proposes to the Council of
Ministers the distribution of funds COUNCIL COMPOSITION
-
Council Members are Heads of several Ministries and Central Institutions and distinguished scientists. -
There must be no more than 15 members. -
The Prime Minister is the
Chairman of the Council. -
Council composition is appointed upon the Chairman decision. |
